This spec will accommodate larger wire sizes than the other mil- specs. It is typically used in applications where a higher voltage is required.
Features a quick threaded coupling. Requires approximately eight turns to fully engage.
Although series 1 is inactive for new designs, it is still used in non-critical applications due to its low cost.
All three series are all intermateable with each other. Selection will typically depend on the following:
- Type on contacts desired: solder, crimp, front or rear release.
- Operating temperature.
- Exposure to fluids. Silicone has better fluid resistance than neoprene.
